Withdrawal regulations

According to Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003, feed additives for which no application for re-evaluation was submitted before the deadline of 8th November 2010, should be withdrawn from the market via the adoption of a regulation.

In recent years, seven withdrawal regulations have been published:

2024: Regulation (EU) No 2024/1727 of 20 June 2024 withdrawing from the market certain feed additives has been published in the Official Journal of the EU

2023: Regulation (EU) 2023/1173 of 15 June 2023 withdrawing from the market certain feed additives, amending Regulation (EC) No 1810/2005 and repealing Regulations (EC) No 1453/2004, (EC) No 2148/2004 and (EC) No 943/2005

2021: Regulation (EU) No 2021/758 on the status of certain products as feed additives within the scope of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council and on the withdrawal from the market of certain feed additives

2017: Regulation (EU) No 2017/1145 for certain feed additives authorised pursuant to Council Directives 70/524/EEC and 82/471/EEC and repealing the obsolete provisions authorising those feed additives

*Note: the mentioned Regulation was corrected by the following  Regulation (EU) 2018/353 of 9 March 2018

2014: Regulation (EU) No 107/2014 for certain sources of cobalt

2013: Regulation (EU) No 230/2013 for certain feed additives belonging to the group of flavouring and appetising substances

2012: Regulation (EU) No 451/2012 for certain feed additives belonging to the functional group of silage additives

Substances listed in the withdrawal regulations are no longer authorised feed additives and therefore cannot be placed on the market. If business operators see finally the need for those products to be marketed in EU, they must submit a new application for authorisation.
