#MeattheFacts: European Livestock Voice sets to balance the debate around livestock production

FEFANA is member of the European Livestock Voice, a multi-stakeholder group of like-minded partners in the livestock food chain, that have decided to unite for the first time to balance the debate around a sector playing such an essential role in Europe’s rich heritage and future. The associations involved, which represent sectors ranging from animal health to feed, to breeding and animal farming and farmers, aim to inform the public about the societal value of livestock production and its contribution to global challenges, offering an alternative narrative to current debates.

FEFANA/EAAP joint scientific session on the role of specialty feed ingredients in meeting societal challenges – 28 August 2019, Ghent (EAAP 2019)

The high-quality program of the joint EAAP/FEFANA session will showcase the excellence of animal science pertaining to animal nutrition with emphasis on practical application. The conference, which will take place on 28 August, shall stimulate discussions on innovation within the domain of specialty feed ingredients targeted at meeting societal challenges with focus on the mitigation of environmental impacts of livestock farming and the reduction of antibiotic use in the view of tackling the threat of antimicrobial resistance.

ICCF publishes the two guidance documents on ‘Stability Testing of Feed Ingredients’ and ‘Sub- chronic oral toxicity testing in laboratory animals’

The International Cooperation for Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) Steering Committee is pleased to announce that it has endorsed its first two guidance documents on ‘Stability Testing of Feed Ingredients’ and ‘Sub-chronic oral toxicity testing in laboratory animals’ at its meeting on 14 March 2019 in Bangkok. These documents were finalized after a two-month open public consultation, which closed in January 2019.
