FEFANA asbl is the EU Association of Specialty Feed Ingredients and their Mixtures
Centred in the heart of Brussels, FEFANA facilitates the dialogue between EU institutions and feed business operators while promoting feed and food safety and a fair and competitive market.

Experience
Created in 1963, FEFANA has developed during almost 60 years a strong base and extended outreach to serve the industry in many fields related to EU policy, legislation, market access beyond EU, and , last but not least, stimulating research and innovation. The association can rely on an exceptional network of committed member companies and people providing outstanding scientific and regulatory knowledge and know-how.
Stakeholder engagement
FEFANA is the united voice of the EU specialty feed Ingredients industry advocating sustainable legislative pathways and opportunities for its members. FEFANA is committed to enhancing the image of the industry as well as its members’ contributions towards creating a greener future in the global market. The association has built a strong track record of engagement and success with key decision-makers, including the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Food Safety Authority and Member States’ authorities. FEFANA also interacts with many other sectors of the feed and food chain, aiming to ensure that compound feeders, farmers, regulatory and control authorities, consumers, research organisations, journalists, and others are correctly informed about the use, safety and benefits of specialty feed ingredients.
What we do
Promote, defend and represent the common and general interests of the European industry of specialty feed ingredients
Promote the benefits and safety of specialty feed ingredients and their mixtures
Promote the scientific study and the development of specialty feed ingredients in Europe
Improve the understanding among the public and more particularly the users of these products
Maintain cooperative contact with EU and Member States’ authorities and other associations having related purposes; assure flows of information
Provide constructive input to the decision-making process of new legislation and support a harmonised implementation of the legislation in place
Develop professional voluntary tools (codes of practice, etc.) that ensure the quality and the safety of specialty feed ingredients and their mixtures
Support FEFANA Members‘ effort for safe, cost-effective products for the feed chain
Promote the sustainable development of livestock production by using specialty feed ingredients
